Farewell to Blogspot

Well, this is  definitely not what I wanted to do but, I’m saying farewell to blogspot. Google is making choices lately that made it impossible to stay.  As you know, google + if you have it, is ending in April because google didn’t want to maintain it. They don’t care if you like it. And Blogspot,  if you use it,is easiest from their app. It’s easier for me to write on the go, I always do it that way . (It may explain my terrible grammar). But now if you use the app your media won’t load. No photos at all even your own.  I troubleshooted all I could possibly do. Twice. And nothing will load. Google said they are discontinuing the app and not offering anymore updates or fixes for anyone using it. Again, google is sending the message they could care less. And this is to their own bloggers! Now we have to risk our followers while switching to another host. The other option is to just use the Chrome version. It is so small you can’t get anything done. It’s a mess. I could go on but I wi

A Yeti of Many Names

Image
As I was rolling through YouTube the other day  I stumbled on a little gem. At first I thought it was the Abominable Snowman starring Peter Cushing. Alas, I wasn’t that lucky. This movie was called The Snow Creature. Staring no one you care about. This movie was about a scientist who was leading an expedition in the Himalayas to find and study the plant life that could be growing in such harsh conditions. Seems like a sound plot so far. Unfortunately that is the last sound thing happening in this movie. After a night or two the Sherpa who are guiding the expedition see Yeti footprints by the tents and get immediately anxious. They want to leave but the scientists decides to follow the tracks and take home an even better discovery than plants. The natives explain to them that the Yeti come down from the mountain and steal their woman. Really? No female Yeti anywhere? And for a movie made in 1954 the implications of that statement are pretty bold for the time.  The Sherpa also told

Ode to Bigfoot...

You stand up to ten feet tall To you, all of us are small When we get out to see you, we give you a call We knock away on the trees Hoping these familiar sounds will lure you with ease Do you live alone? Are you lonely out there? Do you stay away from us from fear? From my hands, no harm will come to you But you have no way to know that it’s true  You are a creature of legend and mystery  Somehow we must learn all your history  You are covered head to toe in hair I always take a breath before going to find you Then I know I’ll show no fear  You are always ahead of the game You don’t deserve to be captured and tamed To me you are elusive and beautiful  And you are trapped watching us looking for you, with all our gadgets and tools Sometimes we think we hear you knocking to us, but we can’t be sure It could be like a mermaid luring the ships to crash on the shore  Your prints are all around  We cast these prints just in case But other than that, there is no trace

Warning ⚠️ Squatching May be Hazardous to Your Health

Image
I have always enjoyed my time in the great outdoors, whether I am at a beach, the dog park or Squatching. You couldn’t coerce me back in the house. In the summer months I’m literally outdoors from dawn till dusk, but lately I’ve noticed that all these outdoor activities are starting to become hazardous to my health.              Chris Farley in Black Sheep I’m used to the constant Chris Farley type trips I do daily, sometimes, most times, it’s usually in a public forum. The grocery store while the floor was wet, Maggie’s doggy day care in front of the owner and when I was teaching a million times tripping over the kids in front of everyone and on film too! I was used to it. I never bothered to  jump up to see if anyone was looking, because I knew they were. Sure it’s funny now, or even then, but this last year I’m doing the same maneuvers but I’m actually starting to feel these falls. Things are starting to get real here. After talking to some friends and colleagues who are also out

My Yeti and I...

I can’t think of a better way, to start off the day  Just sitting side by side, my Yeti and I We could chat or just stare Look out at the sunrise, or for a bear My friend and I wouldn’t need words And the language he speaks, has never been heard I’m not worried about what we’d have in common  I’m happy just being in his presence, it’s what I’ve always been longing  I could maybe pet his fur while he sighed I may pinch myself to see if I’m alive I’m not going to stay long, or wear out my welcome  I think sitting here like this, is something he does seldom So thank you for your peace, my white warrior beast Recalling this moment is how I’ll end this day I can’t believe it started out this way Off to slumber now, I can feel it pulling me down  I’ll be waiting right here, if you ever decide to come back around Art by Yalanrei Copyright © December 2018, property of Bigfootmountain, all rights reserved

50 shades of Squatch...Cherokee Creek Review

Image
Last night I finally was able to see the new Bigfoot movie, Cherokee Creek. Since the writer warned me I was going to have a wild ride, I was apprehensive going in. But, I’m no wuss, I waited a long time to see it, and I was going for it despite the warning. First let’s talk about the length. The man wearing all the Bigfoot masks here (figuratively),wanted to make a Bigfoot movie for all of us enthusiasts without being controlled by a movie studio and being forced to most likely remove all the parts of the movie you want to see. I’m not saying that this movie needed no censorship. There were one or two scenes that could have been be less graphic and still kept their integrity, but the point I’m making is that it wasn't too bad. Now, apparently Amazon has a VERY SELECTIVE "Offensive and Controversial Materials" policy, determined that Cherokee Creek was either offensive or controversial, and refused to release it on Christmas Day. That has me rather upset. The movie I

Night of the Debauchery.. I Mean Demon

Warning, this entire post is either a spoiler alert, a trigger, or me saving you from the worst hour plus of your life. However you want to look at it.             I’m sitting here collecting my thoughts on the visual assault I just was a victim to. I’ll start by saying, it’s showing on Amazon Prime, so there were no warning labels like say, this movie contains gratuitous...everything. Exept for swearing, there was not actually a lot of swearing in this. Not that there needed to be. They pretty much had that R rating nailed down. The title scene was by far the only watchable one. A little gross for some, but still cool. The arm was ripped off a man and the blood oozed down into a giant Bigfoot footprint. That my friends is one of the best cinematic displays of click bait I’ve ever scene. Now cue the ridiculous 70s happy music and nature scenes. I know the release says 1980, but trust me, this has 70s all over it.  The next scene up was a couple having relations In a van. It was ju
