Ode to Bigfoot...

Image
You stand up to ten feet tall To you, all of us are small When we get out to see you, we give you a call We knock away on the trees Hoping these familiar sounds will lure you with ease Do you live alone? Are you lonely out there? Do you stay away from us from fear? From my hands, no harm will come to you But you have no way to know that it’s true  You are a creature of legend and mystery  Somehow we must learn all your history  You are covered head to toe in hair I always take a breath before going to find you Then I know I’ll show no fear  You are always ahead of the game You don’t deserve to be captured and tamed To me you are elusive and beautiful  And you are trapped watching us looking for you, with all our gadgets and tools Sometimes we think we hear you knocking to us, but we can’t be sure It could be like a mermaid luring the ships to crash on the shore  Your prints are all around  We cast these prints just in case But ot...

Warning ⚠️ Squatching May be Hazardous to Your Health

Image
I have always enjoyed my time in the great outdoors, whether I am at a beach, the dog park or Squatching. You couldn’t coerce me back in the house. In the summer months I’m literally outdoors from dawn till dusk, but lately I’ve noticed that all these outdoor activities are starting to become hazardous to my health.              Chris Farley in Black Sheep I’m used to the constant Chris Farley type trips I do daily, sometimes, most times, it’s usually in a public forum. The grocery store while the floor was wet, Maggie’s doggy day care in front of the owner and when I was teaching a million times tripping over the kids in front of everyone and on film too! I was used to it. I never bothered to  jump up to see if anyone was looking, because I knew they were. Sure it’s funny now, or even then, but this last year I’m doing the same maneuvers but I’m actually starting to feel these falls. Things are starting to get real here. After talking to some f...

My Yeti and I...

Image
I can’t think of a better way, to start off the day  Just sitting side by side, my Yeti and I We could chat or just stare Look out at the sunrise, or for a bear My friend and I wouldn’t need words And the language he speaks, has never been heard I’m not worried about what we’d have in common  I’m happy just being in his presence, it’s what I’ve always been longing  I could maybe pet his fur while he sighed I may pinch myself to see if I’m alive I’m not going to stay long, or wear out my welcome  I think sitting here like this, is something he does seldom So thank you for your peace, my white warrior beast Recalling this moment is how I’ll end this day I can’t believe it started out this way Off to slumber now, I can feel it pulling me down  I’ll be waiting right here, if you ever decide to come back around Art by Yalanrei Copyright © December 2018, property of Bigfootmountain, all rights reserved

50 shades of Squatch...Cherokee Creek Review

Image
Last night I finally was able to see the new Bigfoot movie, Cherokee Creek. Since the writer warned me I was going to have a wild ride, I was apprehensive going in. But, I’m no wuss, I waited a long time to see it, and I was going for it despite the warning. First let’s talk about the length. The man wearing all the Bigfoot masks here (figuratively),wanted to make a Bigfoot movie for all of us enthusiasts without being controlled by a movie studio and being forced to most likely remove all the parts of the movie you want to see. I’m not saying that this movie needed no censorship. There were one or two scenes that could have been be less graphic and still kept their integrity, but the point I’m making is that it wasn't too bad. Now, apparently Amazon has a VERY SELECTIVE "Offensive and Controversial Materials" policy, determined that Cherokee Creek was either offensive or controversial, and refused to release it on Christmas Day. That has me rather upset. The movie I ...

Night of the Debauchery.. I Mean Demon

Image
Warning, this entire post is either a spoiler alert, a trigger, or me saving you from the worst hour plus of your life. However you want to look at it.             I’m sitting here collecting my thoughts on the visual assault I just was a victim to. I’ll start by saying, it’s showing on Amazon Prime, so there were no warning labels like say, this movie contains gratuitous...everything. Exept for swearing, there was not actually a lot of swearing in this. Not that there needed to be. They pretty much had that R rating nailed down. The title scene was by far the only watchable one. A little gross for some, but still cool. The arm was ripped off a man and the blood oozed down into a giant Bigfoot footprint. That my friends is one of the best cinematic displays of click bait I’ve ever scene. Now cue the ridiculous 70s happy music and nature scenes. I know the release says 1980, but trust me, this has 70s all over it.  The next scene up was a couple ha...

A Moment in the Forest With You

Image
To leave real life behind as we enter the forest With you and I together, the animals would be singing just for us  I think about this sometimes, When I’m having my quiet time We sometimes think alike, so I wonder if you would mind The smell of the pines, and for a bit you would be mine I’d give you back, I swear I would It would be a tough decision, but the one that I should  I’ll just borrow you here in the forest, inside my mind  Sitting by my favorite tree, I often think of you and me Were we would be in the forest alone, cut off where no one else could see  And where no one else would know  Searching for our hairy man would just be a plus We will be relaxed out there,  Because even if there is nothing else, there will always be trust But I’ve promised, so I will give you back For you are not mine, And there will never be the right time The crunch of the leaves will get louder as we go The branches gently swaying ...

Booger Funnels...

Image
This post is from a guest blogger, Sunday Monroe from Team Cryptid Mississippi. I have not changed any text from the piece beyond basic editing, which you all know I’m terrible at...Thank you to Sunday for sharing and emailing me this... Boogers are always in transition. They move about from place to place as needs dictate. They must, no moss grows on them for sure. It is what they have to do, it’s how they survive. This practice probably has more than a little to do with why they remain generally undocumented. You cannot define what you can’t pin down and examine. This is a trait that you can take advantage of if you want to go and see one for yourself, by thinking like a Booger thinks. If I was a Booger, why would I leave the relative comfort of my den? Because I’m hungry, of course. It takes a lot of food to support a single, large primate much less an entire family of them.  Few places offer food in sufficient amounts year round to support a family of Boogers. In most loca...
