Ode to Bigfoot...

You stand up to ten feet tall

To you, all of us are small

When we get out to see you, we give you a call

We knock away on the trees

Hoping these familiar sounds will lure you with ease

Do you live alone? Are you lonely out there?

Do you stay away from us from fear?

From my hands, no harm will come to you

But you have no way to know that it’s true

You are a creature of legend and mystery

Somehow we must learn all your history

You are covered head to toe in hair

I always take a breath before going to find you

Then I know I’ll show no fear

You are always ahead of the game

You don’t deserve to be captured and tamed

To me you are elusive and beautiful

And you are trapped watching us looking for you, with all our gadgets and tools

Sometimes we think we hear you knocking to us, but we can’t be sure

It could be like a mermaid luring the ships to crash on the shore

Your prints are all around

We cast these prints just in case

But other than that, there is no trace

Some see your eyes glowing red in the night

We wonder if it helps you see, when there is no light

I know we are dogging your every move

But truly we believe, you have nothing to prove

I’m glad you have a way to hide from all our madness

Because with us, we will cause you nothing but heartache and sadness...
